Ruth E. Smith

Ruth E. Smith, 103, a resident of Oswego passed away on January 31,2021 at her home.
Born in Oswego, She was a daughter of the late Russell and Cora (Ketcham) Day Sr. and was a graduate of the Oswego High School.
She was employed with the Sealright Corporation before becoming a homemaker and later retired from the Pontiac Beverage.
Ruth was a member of both the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion Post #268 and the VFW Post #5885.
She was an avid golfer who enjoyed bowling, watching the NY Mets and ballroom dancing with her husband, Jim Smith.
Surviving are her son, David Smith of Oswego, a brother, Donald Day of Oswego, a sister, Mary Murray and her Chihuahua, LeeLee.
She was predeceased by her husband, James Smith in 2010 and two brothers, Russell Day Jr. and Robert Day Sr.
Friends may call at the Dowdle Funeral Home on Thursday from Noon- 1:00 with a service to follow the hours.
NYS mandates social distancing and facial masks are required.
