James Miuccio, 57, of Oswego passed away on December
8, 2023. Jim was living with a heart disorder and doing well. On that Friday during an early evening walk Jim departed this earth to join his beloved Mother and Father in the Heavens.
Born on January 19, 1966, Jim was a longtime resident of Oswego.
He was predeceased by his parents John Sr. and Anita (Gambino) Miuccio, and one sister.
He is survived by siblings including Martha Czirr (Brad) of Oswego, Cathy Gunther of Oswego, John Miuccio (Carol) of Fairfax, VA, Anita Baker (Steve) of Martinsburg, WV, Marylynn Jones of Oswego, Joseph Miuccio (Anne) of Oswego, and their families.
In recent months Jim made decisions to change his life, living a life close to sobriety.
Having moved to Unity Acres as a transition for better stability is something family and friends, including himself, can be proud of. Jim was a kindhearted person who enjoyed life. Anyone who knew Jim knew he was a huge fan of racing, especially Oswego’s super-modified racetrack. He was an avid football fan and enjoyed great tunes of classic rock. Jim enjoyed good times with numerous close friends, and he will be
missed by many.
A Catholic mass will be planned in Jim’s memory early next year.
There will be a Celebration of Life gathering at the Shamrock Tavern in Oswego on Sunday, January 21, 2024, at 1 pm. That would have been Jim’s 58th birthday weekend. A potluck lunch with a cash bar is planned. Feel free to bring a dish to share, photos of Jim, and some nice stories.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jim's loving memory either to the American Heart Association at www.heart.org or to Unity Acres in Orwell NY, at www.unityacres.org.
Arrangements are in the care of the Dowdle Funeral Home.
