Howard C. DeGroff

Howard C. DeGroff, 85, a resident of Central Square passed away at St. Joseph's Hospital in Syracuse on November 25, 2022.

Born in Oswego, he was the son of the late Edgar and Lucille (Robarge) DeGroff and was a graduate of the Oswego High School.

He was a body & fender man for many local body shops and later worked at and retired from Alcan in 1993 after 20 years of service.

He was a long-time member of the Scriba United Baptist Church and its entertainment band. He was a musician who enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and camping.

Surviving are his children Cynthia (DeGroff) McManus of Oswego, Brian DeGroff of Oswego, Mark DeGroff of New Haven, Sharon (DeGroff) Mandurano of Fulton, Brenda DeGroff of Minetto. He was predeceased by his first wife Adrienne(Ottman) DeGroff and their son, Douglas DeGroff. Surviving also are his stepchildren, Burnetta (Howard) Bennett, Rhonda (Ralph) Woolson Snyder, and Larry Woolson Jr.. He was predeceased by his second wife Marlene DeGroff and a stepdaughter, Laurie Chivers. He is also survived by his sister, Janet Upcraft of Scriba, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at the Dowdle Funeral Home on  Wednesday, November 30th from 5 pm-7 pm

Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
