Dennis “Skip” Simons, 76, of Ormond Beach, Florida passed away peacefully on July 15, 2021, at Halifax
Hospice in Ormond Beach, surrounded by his loving family.
Dennis was born on June 15, 1945, in Oswego, New York. He was the son of the late Howard and Elsie
Simons of Oswego, NY.
He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. After that, he attended/graduated from the Rochester
Business Institute, Empire State College and Niagara University.
In his early career, he was Vice President of Sales at Advanced Training Center Inc. in Buffalo, N.Y. Then
in 1989 he started U.S. 1 Home Crafters Inc. and in 1991 SKEET’R BEAT’R screens in Ormond Beach.
His hobbies included playing golf regularly, watching Nascar races, and playing the guitar.
He is survived by his wife Mary Lou of 52 years; daughter Tracy (Scott) Norman of York, South Carolina;
son Chad (Katie) Simons of Port Orange, Florida; sister Jill Simons-Roof of Cicero, NY and many nieces
and nephews. He was a beloved husband, father, and brother, who will forever be remembered as the
consummate provider, loveable jokester, and rock of his immediate and extended family.
Dennis was predeceased by sister Patricia Muldoon, brothers Richard “Biff” Simons and David “Kim”
Simons.
Services were held on Saturday, July 31, 2021, in Ormond Beach.
Final burial will be in Groton, NY.
