William F. Hibbert Jr., 53, a resident of Oswego passed away on Wednesday morning with his family by his side after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Oswego, he was a son of Mary (Derousie) Hibbert of Oswego and the late William F. Hibbert Sr. and was a graduate of the Oswego High School.
William was employed with the Port Authority for 35 years and also with the Nestle Corporation for 19 years.
He was an avid sports fan and especially loved watching the New York Yankees and the New York Giants play. He enjoyed playing softball and collecting baseball cards.
Surviving besides his mother, are his wife of 33 years, the former, Gretchen Schwartz , a daughter, Michelle (Alexander Sr.) Farley of Oswego, a son, William F. ( Chris Trocano) Hibbert III of Liverpool, three grandchildren, Alexander Jr., Allison and Landon Farley, two brothers, Timothy (Tracey) Hibbert of Buffalo, Steven Hibbert of Fulton, three sisters, MaryJean (Edward) Rice of Oswego, Edie (James ) Miner of Lycoming ,Jacqueline Rodriquez of Fulton , mother in law, Gail Joyce and many loving nieces and nephews
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 2:00 from the Grace Lutheran Church.
Friends may call at the Dowdle Funeral Home on Friday from 4:00-7:00.
