George J. Scandura Jr.

George J.  Scandura Jr., 76, a resident of Scriba passed away on October 15 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Syracuse.
Born in Oswego, he was a son of the late George J.and Mary (Miuccio) Scandura Sr. and was a graduate of the Oswego High School.
He retired from the Oswego County Sheriff's Department in 1990.
Mr. Scandura was a veteran of the Unites States Navy.
He was an active member of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #1 and was a member of the VFW in Tupperlake and the Tini Time Sportsman's Club in Childwold.
Surviving are his wife of 40 years, the former, Ruth See, two daughters, Kimberly Scandura and Donna Wright both of Oswego, four grandchildren, Jeffrey Brown and Danielle Wright both of Oswego, Raymond Wright of Oneida and Tristan Sheffield of Texas.
He is also survived by three step sons, Robert Davies of Childwold, N.Y., Richard Davies and John Davies of Pulaski, four step grandchildren, Bryan Davies of Chicago, Kecia Schell of Oklahoma City, Christopher Davies of Michigan and Caleb Davies of Pulaski.
He was predeceased by his daughter, Stephanie Sheffield and his step son, Glenn Davies.
Friends may call at the Dowdle Funeral  Home on Thursday from 3:00-5:00 with a service to follow the hours.
