Gary Morrisette, 68, a resident of Oswego, passed away on April 5, 2017 at
Crouse Hospital in Syracuse after a long illness.
Born in Ilion, N.Y., he was the son of the late Albert and Evelyn (Adams)
Morrisette. He was a graduate of Ilion High School and received his
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Arts from the State University at Oswego.
He taught Technology at Mexico High School and later was employed with

Gary was a humble man and a person of integrity. He saw the good in
everyone and taught his family so much about living and loving.
He dearly loved his family and took so much joy in caring for them. His
granddaughters were his greatest joy. Gary cared deeply for all his animal
friends, especially his cats Alf and Koby. He loved all kinds of music,
(especially country), reading, woodworking, computers, watching hockey,
and was always interested in current events. Gary also loved nature and it
was always a special day when the blue heron, “the fisherman,” returned in
the spring.
On Aug. 11, 1973, Gary married the former Dianne Thompson, and together
they shared 43 years of love and devotion to each other. He is also survived
by two children, Julie (Robert) Johnson of Fulton, Michael Morrisette of
Clifton Springs, a sister, Nancy (Albert) Young of Mohawk and four
granddaughters, Lori, Gabriella, Chloe and Naomi, “Popa’s" four bright stars.
