Dorothy J. Mumford

   Dorothy J. "Dottie"  Mumford,81, passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2019.
   Born in Oswego, N.Y. on May 28, 1938 and she was the daughter of the late Richard and Evelyn (Flynn) Mumford.
   Dottie was a graduate of the Oswego High School and she was proud to receive her LPN  from BOCES in the 1980's while she was in her 40's.
   Dottie worked as an LPN and a home-health nurse before retiring in 2006.
   Dottie is survived by her children, Dorothy (Dotti) J. Splawn of Syracuse, William (Teri) Boyea of West Valley, Utah and Colleen Boyea- Simone (Thomas) of Cicero. In addition, she leaves behind her grandchildren, Michael J. Splawn, William R. Boyea, Megan F. Coon and Jesse D. Fenton. She also has her handsome great-grandchildren, Wyatt J. Fenton and Henry and Benjamin Coon. Dottie will be missed by her special friends and caregivers, Karen and Dennis Smith, Walter Klumpe and Kathy Tirrell.
  In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Judith L. Goodman and longtime companion, Salvatore " Sam" Marturano.
  Friends may call at the Dowdle Funeral Home on Wednesday from 10:00-12:00 with a service to follow the hours.
