Richard P. Batchelor

Richard P. Batchelor, 69, a resident of the Town of Oswego passed away on December 15, 2023, at St. Luke Health Services. Born in Oswego, He was the son of the late Richard and Flora (Leanor) Batchelor and was a graduate of the Oswego High School.

   He was employed with Miller's until it closed and later retired from the Sithe Independence Station after over 20 years of service.

   Richard was a lifetime member of the Oswego Town Volunteer Fire Department and loved to go camping. He enjoyed restoring cars and attending races in Oswego County.

    Surviving are his wife of 46 years, the former, Kathleen Gillette, a daughter, Morgan Burnham of Oswego, a son, Philip (Amanda) Batchelor of Oswego, four sisters, Bonnie (Jack) Kingsley of Ohio, Lana Myers of St. Louis, Cheryl (Doug) Tosh of Baldwinsville, Ruth (Bob) Thompson of Arkansas and six grandchildren.

    He was predeceased by his aunt, Margaret Stoddard.

    Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family.

    There are no calling hours.

    In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Oswego Town Volunteer Fire Department, 640 County Route 20, #1, Oswego, NY 13126.
