George L. Phillips, 88, a resident of the Town of Oswego passed away on February 24, 2024, at the Seneca Hill Manor.
Born in Oswego, He was a son of the late George and Eleanor (Fournier) Phillips and graduated from the Oswego High School.
George was employed with the Fulton Tool and later retired from Nestle's after thirty years of service.
He was a councilman and was on the Planning Board in the Town of Oswego for twenty years. He was part of the St.Mary's Men's Choir and the Oswego Snowbelters Barbershop Quartet. He was a member of the H. Lee White Museum and enjoyed classic cars. George was an avid gardener.
Surviving are his two sons, Scott Phillips of Fulton, James "Lee" (Kate) Phillips of Las Vegas, grandson, Merit Wilkinson of Ithaca, one sister, Barbara Frankosky of Jordan, two brothers, Edward Phillips of Atlanta, and John (Tina) Phillips of Massena.
He was predeceased by his wife Sharon M. Phillips, daughter, Shannon Marie Phillips, his son, Darren Patrick Phillips, and brother Frederick Phillips
Funeral services are private and at the convenience of the family.
