Robert G. Izyk Sr.

Robert G. Izyk Sr., 73, a resident of Oswego passed away on February 14 at the Oswego Hospital.
Born in Oswego, he was a son of the late Richard and Mary (Emlaw) Izyk Sr. and had attended Oswego schools.
He was employed as a laborer with Laborer's Local #214 (#633 Syracuse) for almost 30 years.
Mr. Izyk was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving from 1962-1966.
He was a member of the Oswego Sportsman's #35 Club and was a former member of the Oswego Polish Club, Oswego Country Club and the VFW #5885.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed playing golf.
He enjoyed spending a month every year in Myrtle Beach.
Surviving are his wife of 46 years, the former Margaret Kray, a son, Robert (Sue Knopp) Izyk Jr. of Oswego, a granddaughter, Allison (Jose) Coronado, a great granddaughter, Kahleeci, two brothers, Richard Izyk Jr. of Minetto, Paul (Ann) Izyk of Oswego and a sister, Ann (Hank) Osinga of Florida.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 9:00 from St.Stephen's Church.
Burial will be in St. Paul's Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Dowdle Funeral Home on Friday from 4:00-7:00.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 6725 East Lyons St., East Syracuse N.Y. 13057 or a charity of choice.
